Usually you would try to find the perfect frame for your painting. In this case I found the perfect frame already and needed the right painting for it.
It started with this fella and his frame. Both were discarded and found by me near the rubbish bins. What a waste this would have been…
The brown-ish frame needed some new paint first. The idea was a “used-look” using a combination of gold and black.
So it started with the first layer – Gold
Next layer to follow – Black
Now the sanding, scratching and re-painting began…until the gold started to shimmer through…
A frame this elegant now needed something of similar elegancy and which subject would be more suitable than the king of all animals – the lion. So, the idea was born:
